Andy McKee's music is a prime example. "Drifting" the video in this blog,is a three minute instrumental song that has gotten him over 11 million views. No more than 14 months ago Andy McKee was no different than you. A musician with a dream. A Musician like the millions of others in every city in America. Now just a few months later Andy and his music are famous having received over 30 millions views for his videos, a record contract and his dream being realized.

Are you using video to promote your music? The times have changes quickly and if you are not then you are not doing all you can to promote your stuff.

I have started a new site for musicians to specifically do what Andy McKee has done. Quite frankly with the information that I share in Monthly Video Cash you can do it wihout a lot of time or effort. Check out this site and let me know what you think.

http://www.monthlyvideocash.com

JohnnyChristinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06331131991880247417noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23660326.post-13234221371857932942007-12-26T08:56:00.000-08:002007-12-26T08:57:56.567-08:00MYSPACE MUSIC REVIEW - "SISTER TRISH"Sister Trish

These guys bring it hard, fast, and in your face. They really know how to rock. Metal and hard rock fans of all sorts would be able to appreciate the lighting riffs and heavy, driving rythms. Think of Godsmack turned up to the next level and you have Sister Trish. What I like is that Neil (or Col.Droop) doesn't stick with one type of vocals. He mixes it up with screaming, singing, talking, and yelling- creating an complete experience through their music to pump up the crowd. A place you would normally pass right by if it wasn't for a sound forgotten by modern pop radio.A blend of sounds old and new, 6 Shot 7 bring the rockuncomfortably close and in your face. Blues guitar mixes with Gothlyrics and creates a southern fried- heavy driven "Mug rock." It's Neal Young meets Jefferson Airplane meets Buffalo Springfield . On "You've got to know" the Young analogy particularly the vocals is scary close. The two separate however with the stronger more ripping guitar licks woven throughout.

They slow things down a bit with "Hope" but the melody is just as compelling with its rock and roll root. They pull off power ballads with grace and ease.

This band moves into a lot of areas however. That is what I found so captivating. In "Red Hot Lipstick Kisses" they deliver a high octane Molly Hatchett like rollicking party. Wow what versatility. Put the roof down and let's start cruising!

Frank Porter lead guitarist can flat out play the strings off. His strong guitar rivals any rock and roll mainstream act out there today. They are working on a full CD so put them in your favorites and watch for more music coming from these guys.

Johnny

http://www.musicpromotionexplosion.comChristinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06331131991880247417noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23660326.post-6659932554096125602007-02-24T09:11:00.000-08:002007-02-24T09:12:42.967-08:00MYSPACE MUSIC REVIEW - HARPITALLICAMYSPACE MUSIC REVIEW - HARPITALLICA

http://www.harptallica.com/

Ashley Toman is a genious. At least in my eyes she is. First of all the very notion of playing Metallica via the harp is as innovative as you will see on Myspace or any space for that matter. Secondly (and most importantly) Harpitallica's music is melodic, beautiful, soothing and most listenable. (Even if you know nothing about the harp).

The cover of the Metallica music takes an active ear to find the tune. But that is a good thing. It isn't so much a Metallica cover as it is an adaptation, a merging of the musical genres that creates a most soothing and interesting listening experience.

When their CD comes out I am buying. It is that good. Harpitallica....thank you for the innovative creation that you are producing. It is a musical lighthouse in a sea of sameness.

Johnny
http://www.musicpromotionexplosion.com

http://myspace-music-reviews.blogspot.com/Christinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06331131991880247417noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23660326.post-1170517135252651962007-02-03T07:38:00.000-08:002007-02-03T07:38:55.260-08:00MYSPACE MUSIC REVIEW - PAULINE TAYLOR

Pauline Taylor

http://www.myspace.com/paulinetaylor

There is one word that I think of when I hear Pauline…smooth. This woman is full of soul with a bit of a folk edge. She has low vocal tones sounding at times like a young Karen carpenter or Tracy Chapman with a British accent. Her song "We Dream" is probably one of my favorites. There are some very creative lyrics that you'll want to stick in your back pocket to quote later and the piano in this one is mixes in really well. I also love the feel of "My open heart".

There is a real Johnny Cash like honesty and even though it brings you low, you still get that uplifting soft southern feeling while listening. "Solo flying mystery" is a great acoustic track with some really pleasant percussion and beautiful harmonies. It builds up really nice with some light piano and acoustic guitar bringing it back down to a perfect ending. Pauline definitely knows what she's doing with her style and I hope we continue hear more of her in the future.

Nancy
http://www.musicpromotionexplosion.com

http://myspace-music-reviews.blogspot.com/Christinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06331131991880247417noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23660326.post-1169229726721096642007-01-19T10:01:00.000-08:002007-01-19T10:02:06.730-08:00MYSPACE MUSIC REVIEW - PAPER BLUEhttp://www.myspace.com/paperblue

Paper Blue had me literally laughing out loud. These guys remind me of teh 80's band "They might be giants" (Remember them)? with some really awesome trumpets mixed in. Besides the great trumpet playing, I was loving their harmonies and if you listen to Harmonies and Stuff, you will see know how much they love them too. A few of their songs have you feeling like you are a kid riding on a carousel and you find yourself singing a long with their infectious lyrics. Their song Burning Heart is a real nice pop song that shows their true talent and silliness. Paper Blue definitely knows how to have fun and if you check them out, you find yourself having some fun too!

Nancy

http://www.musicpromotionexplosion.com
http://www.battleofthemyspacebands.comChristinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06331131991880247417noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23660326.post-1168304004126292942007-01-08T16:50:00.000-08:002007-01-08T16:56:39.483-08:00MYSPACE MUSIC REVIEW - RANSOM NOTEhttp://www.myspace.com/ransomnotemusic

Ranson Note combines a captivating acoustic guitar with compelling vocals that produces a very listenable, dreamy somewhat relaxing sound. Not being a hard core acoustic guy, I need enough hooks and melody to keep me interested in a full acoustic sound.

Ransom note delivers what I am looking for.

I am not sure what it is about them that fully connects. The vocals are top notch, airy wisps of content fused together between the guitar. The vocals captivate no doubt. But I think it is the guitar that truly snags the listener. The melodies, often rapid and driving are the very best. Yea, you know I need energetic music to get my body moving. We'll I've found some new stuff!Creepy delivers high octane punk music with a hard rock, pop edge.

They are an extemeely tigh sounding punk sound with a hard rock edge to it which in my opinion makes it more listenable. The guitar work is sound, and vocals surprisingly good.

It might be the genre but after 4 songs the punk music can start to all sound the same and Creepy's music can fall into that trap, but the music is high quality nonetheless.

I like this band. "Me Myself and I" rumbles along loud and proud with a driving drum background and hypnotizing guitar rif that swallows up the listener.

This is hard rock, if you like it loud, you'll love these guys. I wanted the vocals to come through a little stronger, but then again I am a vocals guy. I think the band gets it right, I just like a more melodic vocal. I also get the sense that Prowlr has the potential to expand their music genre a bit. I kept wanting to here a song with a wider range maybe one step closer to AC/DC or even Aerosmith. Again, maybe it's just me but these guys seemed to have the musicianship to pull it off.

Good stuff, if you like your ROCK HARD!

Johnny
http://myspace-music-reviews.blogspot.com/Christinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06331131991880247417noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23660326.post-1165581773943105892006-12-08T04:41:00.000-08:002006-12-08T04:42:53.956-08:00MYSPACE MUSIC EVIEW - RACHEL McGOYERachal McGoye's music brings a new meaning to the word melody. Her songs seem to flow gently through a melodic process that captivates the listener. Her sensual voice only makes the addiction more powerful. It is so easy to listen to.Her acoustic, folksy music carries itself well. Each song peels back another slice of her folk pop roots showing a different side of Rachel and her talents. "What Day is it" is a chirpy tune, with a quick rhythm that continues to drive her vocals through the song."Empty" delivers a more melodic urban sound, more depth and certainly is worthy of any soft rock, pop station in our great country.

If you like soft rock music with strong folk roots coupled with a sensual and worthy vocal then get Rachel cGoye.

http://www.myspace.com/rachelmcgoye
http://www.rachelmcgoye.com/
Johnny
Get your music reviewed today!

Just sign up with your email address!

http://myspace-music-reviews.blogspot.com/Christinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06331131991880247417noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23660326.post-1164757781256321412006-11-28T15:48:00.000-08:002006-11-28T15:49:41.270-08:00MYSPACE MUSIC REVIEW - DROP MONDAYMYSPACE MUSIC REVIEW - DROP MONDAY

I just finished listening to one heck of a party band. Yes, Drop Monday drives a guitar laden sound right through your ears and out the other side. It is rock and roll party on steroids. The guitars are tight, with solid musicianship throughout. Shades of Thin Lizzy come through particularly on the song "Spanish Inquisition". Shades of AC/DC minus the blues origins. Deep Purple with passion.

Those of you who know me however know that I don't like to make too many comparisons. In this case that is ever true because Drop Monday is unique and has a unique sound all their own. The guitar arrangements are solid, not pedestrian in the least. These guys can flat out play AND write music.

If you like your music lound, punchy with a party flair then Drop Monday is a must hear!

http://www.dropmonday.com/
http://www.myspace.com/dropmonday

Johnny K
Get Your music reviewed!
Sign up with your email address today!
http://myspace-music-reviews.blogspot.com

http://www.battleofthemyspacebands.com

http://www.myspace.com/battleofthemyspacebandsChristinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06331131991880247417noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23660326.post-1164592346960825682006-11-26T17:49:00.000-08:002006-11-26T18:01:20.286-08:00MYSPACE MUSIC REVIEW - G. Lee's music is defined by her soulful melodic and oh so beautiful vocals. Her voice is a compelling instrument, a band in and of itself. When you comine her spellbinding voice with her worthy acoustic guitar you anve a very listenable and competent sound. I enjoyed it very much. I stand her voice up against any of the big time female singers, it's that good. The songwriting while not getting top billing (her vocals will always get that) is catchy and her melodies very good. "Heartbeat everywhere" has made it into my MP3, its just my kind of song. :)

G. No, I'm in love with her music. Om my gosh, she has the most prolific storytelling ambiance to her songs than anyone I have heard on Myspace. I found myself listening intently to the lyrics, following her story line while being swallowed up in the wandering melodies. "Curled" just slowly winds through its story, enchanting me at every turn. Oh, I haven't even got to her voice yet. It is sensual, sultry, and resonates with a baritone feel that can also reach the highs. Oh yea, then you've also got the top rate musicianship with a peeling guitar melody through "Curled" that perks the song up. I could write a page of notes on each of her songs, that speaks to the depth of the music that she and her band is producing.

"Clumsy" is an innovative ride that rolls in a more pop like feel with an interesting and catchy hook. It was clearly my favorite from a bunch of tunes in which I loved them all.

I fell in love again with "scene from a movie" It is beatlesque in its melody, always a good thing! She must be writing just for me because the soulful delivery of melodic country/folk music with just enough Pop hooks to keep me humming her tunes for days.

I am going to try to get to her show In Phila at the World Cafe live in April. Mix a little youth a little energy and even better vocal hooks and you get????FULL OUT FREAK!Touches of new music, power pop and classic rock (those of you who know me know that this is Johnny's weak spot) make Full out Freak (Can I call you FOF?) one amazing band with enough pop rock hooks that will keep you satisfied for months! I flat out loved these guys music!I tried to focus on a couple of songs to highlight but each one I listed to I liked better than the last. Suffice it to say that "after all" is a bonafide smash hit. "I'll be damned" is a take the top down on the car cruising rock song! The swaying melody and lyrics of "another story" made it my favorite tune on their self titled record "Full out freak" By the way, let's not forget the vocals. The Paul Rodgers sounding strong rock vocals put the final touches on this music. Steve's band s.a.m. was formed to showcase his original music from his independently recorded and produced EP CD titled - WHEN THE NIGHT COMES.I just happen to be a big Tom Petty fan. Well I should say now that I am a bigger SAM band fan. The vocals on some of the tracks sound like an inspired Tom Petty, while the melodies in my humble opinion are stronger than Tom's."About a girl" is very Petty like, although I like the song better than a lot of Tom's work. The depth of the music is evident in "I don't Love you" with it's country/rock beat and Elvis Costello like vocals it just is a feel good song to the max. I found that each SAM tune delivered with its own style and feel which made the music very lively to me. Each tune came with its own expectation. Each quite different from the prior tune with its own personality.I enjoyed every miunute of it.If you are a rock fan, than take a ride with SAM into their very lively and ever changing rock experience.

Johnny
GET YOUR MUSIC REVIEWED IN THE BATTLE OF THE BANDS!

http://www.battleofthemyspacebands.com
http://myspace-music-reviews.blogspot.com/Christinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06331131991880247417noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23660326.post-1142300335338667742006-03-13T17:35:00.000-08:002006-03-13T19:05:26.603-08:00MYSPACE MUSIC REVIEW - HALLDOR MARhttp://www.myspace.com/halldormar

If you like folk, acoustic music, I mean really like it then you are in for a treat! Halldor Mar is a great musician so much so that you can really feel him come through his songs.First and foremost, these are really good songs. Halldor's songwriting skills are clearly evident as each song "feelfully" comes through with well though out lyrics with soft and free melodies. I found that each song was like a new escape for me. Each took me for a different ride some with unexpected turns. The song "routine" was a notable Simon and Garfunkle type soft acoustic ride. It was a delightful listening experience. All in all this is a keeper for soft folk acoustic folks.Easy to listen to mainly because of the well written tunes form Halldor.Halldor, great job!

Johnny

Get your music reviewed!

http://www.battleofthemyspacebands.com
http://myspace-music-reviews.blogspot.com
http://www.myspace.com/battleofthemyspacebandsChristinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06331131991880247417noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23660326.post-1141822575725767772006-03-08T04:52:00.000-08:002006-03-08T04:56:15.726-08:00MUSIC REVIEW - CONSUMTION MUSIChttp://www.consumptionmusic.com

I found myself listening to the band Consumption over and over again. I put them on in the background while I worked at my computer. The music filled me with serenity and was wonderfully easy to listen to. The overall feel is an alternative folk/rock one.

The song "Breaking the Day" was my favorite, giving an overall feel of jumpy folk rock. Shades of Jethro Tull believe it or not came through the song for me, and that being a worthy band to be compared with. Gina Turner's vocals are captivating and I found myself clicking back to run there songs through again, mostly wanting to hear her voice dance through the worthy melodies that the band had written. I'm starting to get hooked on Gina's voice!

All in all, a band that no doubt we will continue to hear from in the days ahead!

Johnny
http://www.battleofthemyspacebands.comChristinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06331131991880247417noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23660326.post-1141821751979371822006-03-08T04:38:00.000-08:002006-03-08T04:42:31.986-08:00Myspace Music reviews has begun!Hey everyone!
