BATTLE OF THE MYSPACE BANDS MUSIC REVIEW - FULL OUT FREAK!

BATTLE OF THE MYSPACE BANDS MUSIC REVIEW - FULL OUT FREAK!

http://www.fulloutfreak.com

What do you get when you mix Led Zeppelin, Bad company, Eddie Money and 3 doors down together? Mix a little youth a little energy and even better vocal hooks and you get????FULL OUT FREAK!Touches of new music, power pop and classic rock (those of you who know me know that this is Johnny's weak spot) make Full out Freak (Can I call you FOF?) one amazing band with enough pop rock hooks that will keep you satisfied for months! I flat out loved these guys music!I tried to focus on a couple of songs to highlight but each one I listed to I liked better than the last. Suffice it to say that "after all" is a bonafide smash hit. "I'll be damned" is a take the top down on the car cruising rock song! The swaying melody and lyrics of "another story" made it my favorite tune on their self titled record "Full out freak" By the way, let's not forget the vocals. The Paul Rodgers sounding strong rock vocals put the final touches on this music. Those rock and roll fans out there PLEASE do yourself a favor and discover this music!

MYSPACE MUSIC REVIEW - THE SAM BAND!

http://www.myspace.com/samband

Steve and Aniko Mathieson have formed a new canadian band called s.a.m. (s - steve, a - aniko, m - mathieson). Steve's band s.a.m. was formed to showcase his original music from his independently recorded and produced EP CD titled - WHEN THE NIGHT COMES.I just happen to be a big Tom Petty fan. Well I should say now that I am a bigger SAM band fan. The vocals on some of the tracks sound like an inspired Tom Petty, while the melodies in my humble opinion are stronger than Tom's."About a girl" is very Petty like, although I like the song better than a lot of Tom's work. The depth of the music is evident in "I don't Love you" with it's country/rock beat and Elvis Costello like vocals it just is a feel good song to the max. I found that each SAM tune delivered with its own style and feel which made the music very lively to me. Each tune came with its own expectation. Each quite different from the prior tune with its own personality.I enjoyed every miunute of it.If you are a rock fan, than take a ride with SAM into their very lively and ever changing rock experience.

MYSPACE MUSIC REVIEW - HALLDOR MAR

http://www.myspace.com/halldormar

If you like folk, acoustic music, I mean really like it then you are in for a treat! Halldor Mar is a great musician so much so that you can really feel him come through his songs.First and foremost, these are really good songs. Halldor's songwriting skills are clearly evident as each song "feelfully" comes through with well though out lyrics with soft and free melodies. I found that each song was like a new escape for me. Each took me for a different ride some with unexpected turns. The song "routine" was a notable Simon and Garfunkle type soft acoustic ride. It was a delightful listening experience. All in all this is a keeper for soft folk acoustic folks.Easy to listen to mainly because of the well written tunes form Halldor.Halldor, great job!

MUSIC REVIEW - CONSUMTION MUSIC

http://www.consumptionmusic.com

I found myself listening to the band Consumption over and over again. I put them on in the background while I worked at my computer. The music filled me with serenity and was wonderfully easy to listen to. The overall feel is an alternative folk/rock one.

The song "Breaking the Day" was my favorite, giving an overall feel of jumpy folk rock. Shades of Jethro Tull believe it or not came through the song for me, and that being a worthy band to be compared with. Gina Turner's vocals are captivating and I found myself clicking back to run there songs through again, mostly wanting to hear her voice dance through the worthy melodies that the band had written. I'm starting to get hooked on Gina's voice!

All in all, a band that no doubt we will continue to hear from in the days ahead!
