MYSPACE MUSIC REVIEW - DROP MONDAY

I just finished listening to one heck of a party band. Yes, Drop Monday drives a guitar laden sound right through your ears and out the other side. It is rock and roll party on steroids. The guitars are tight, with solid musicianship throughout. Shades of Thin Lizzy come through particularly on the song "Spanish Inquisition". Shades of AC/DC minus the blues origins. Deep Purple with passion.

Those of you who know me however know that I don't like to make too many comparisons. In this case that is ever true because Drop Monday is unique and has a unique sound all their own. The guitar arrangements are solid, not pedestrian in the least. These guys can flat out play AND write music.

If you like your music lound, punchy with a party flair then Drop Monday is a must hear!

G. Lee's music is defined by her soulful melodic and oh so beautiful vocals. Her voice is a compelling instrument, a band in and of itself. When you comine her spellbinding voice with her worthy acoustic guitar you anve a very listenable and competent sound. I enjoyed it very much. I stand her voice up against any of the big time female singers, it's that good.The songwriting while not getting top billing (her vocals will always get that) is catchy and her melodies very good. "Heartbeat everywhere" has made it into my MP3, its just my kind of song. :)

G. Lee is a big time talent, more of us should be listening to her sound.
